Candles by Location: Los Angeles
When Los Angeles comes to mind, the first words to come up are often beaches, entertainment, and speed. Los Angeles has shaped and grown to become the center for media and entertainment, being that Hollywood is located right in this glittering city. Los Angeles has become the home to many celebrities, as well as a popular location to visit when in California. When we think of L.A, we’re reminded of a modern and energizing place to be. Similar to that energy of the City of Angels, we are reminded of the smells of Lemon Verbena + Thyme, with notes of lemon, for a fresh and invigorating aroma. Additionally, the mirrored gold vessel reminds us much of walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame under the flashing lights. Inspired by this candle, we’ve decided to put together a list of some of our favorite spots to hit when in Los Angeles.
BEVERLY HILLS + RODEO DRIVE
A name iconic in itself, Beverly Hills has become the home to many celebrities, as it is known for the houses and high-end shopping spots. It is also the location for Rodeo Drive, an upscale shopping spot for designer clothing stores, such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, or Cartier. Even if you don’t decide to purchase anything from the stores, the stores always have decorated window displays, and walking around Rodeo Drive provides many opportunities for the perfect Instagram post. With the Christmas season coming up, Rodeo Drive is oftentimes decked out for this season, so we highly recommend looking around the displays during this time of the year. Not only are there spots to shop at, but dining options, as well as, art displays to see. Aside from Rodeo Drive, we also love driving around Beverly Hills and looking at all the elaborate houses, as well as seeing the famous Beverly Hills sign and Lily Pond. The luxurious lifestyle of Beverly Hills matches the energy of our Lemon Verbena + Thyme.
MELROSE + FAIRFAX
A popular shopping destination for many, Melrose and Fairfax has become the hub for hip and trendy fashion. Melrose Avenue is scattered with good eats and provides an eclectic range of fashion brands for everybody. Additionally, on Sunday mornings, the Melrose Trading Post (@melrosetradingpost on Instagram) is opened. Browse the numerous booths of handcrafted jewelry, small boutiques, or enjoy a quick bite. Walking around Melrose Avenue, there are multiple photo options with art displayed throughout the street. Cat lover? Make sure to visit the kitten cafe called Crumbs + Whiskers (@crumb_whiskers on Instagram). Fairfax Avenue is close by Melrose Avenue, and also provides ample places to shop and dine at. Easily, you can spend a whole afternoon on these two streets, surrounded by a vivacious range of activities.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART
Also known as the LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has become a popular spot to visit when in Los Angeles. Founded in 1961, LACMA has become the largest art museum on the West Coast. Explore visually alluring exhibitions, and a blend of classical and contemporary art as the different exhibitions change over time. An iconic spot that comes to mind when thinking about LACMA is the “Urban Light” exhibit outside the entrance of the museum. Enjoy a relaxing day viewing the different range of exhibits with friends, and grab a bite after at any of the restaurants close to the museum.
MALIBU
Love the beach? Love to surf? Malibu is the pique location to fulfill both those interests. Twenty-seven miles long of a beachfront, there are opportunities to catch a wave or sunbathe on the sand. We also love walking by and seeing all the different beach houses. If the beach isn’t your vibe, no worries, the Getty Villa Art Museum also resides in Malibu. If you love adventure and hiking, the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is close by and provides hiking trails along the hills. There are also opportunities to go on the trails by horseback as well if you’re feeling adventurous. When we think of Malibu we think of sunshine and high energy, which is the same feeling we get from our Lemon Verbena + Thyme.
Los Angeles is filled with its own unique characteristics that make it the iconic spot it is. The fresh and invigorating environment of Los Angeles guarantees a fun experience every time. Tag us (@stbrownco) if you visited any of these spots!
